The Poetry Business is a poetry publisher and writer development agency. Poetry Business poets have won or been shortlisted for almost every major poetry prize, including the Forward Prize (on 11 occasions) and 10 Poetry Book Society awards. In 2012 and 2017 smith|doorstop Books was awarded the Michael Marks Publishers Award. Andrew Motion has described The Poetry Business as “one of the most vital and vitalising literary organisations in the country”.
I began designing for The Poetry Business in 2008 and since then I have produced over 200 publications and created all their branding, publicity materials and web materials. The PB logo was created in 2012 at the time of their previous website upgrade. The type used is Bodoni.
